How do I arrange a Mass intention at St. Joseph's Parish?

To arrange a Mass intention, you will need to complete a Mass Intention Form available at the Parish Office. In the form you will have to clearly indicate the following:

• Whether it is as Thanksgiving, Prayer Intention or Repose of Souls.
• The name of the person or occassion it is for (if applicable).
• Whether it may be offered at any time convenient to the priest or on a specific date. If ou specify a date, you must hand in the form one month in advance.
• Indicate whether or or not you will join the particular Mass. If you will be present for the Mass, you will need to furnish your contact number.
• Petitioner's name.
• The amount of Mass Offering you want to give for this intention. Note that this is not a fee but an expression of gratitude and support for the parish. Each priest working in the Archdiocese of Kuching may only accept two offerings a month. All other Mass offerings given to him will be surrendered by him to the parish to facilitate the running of the parish. It is customary to give a minimum of RM20 per offering to the parish.
• Submit the form together with the offering to the Parish Office.

How do I arrange to have prayers for departed loved ones at the monthly Combined Requiem Mass at St. Joseph's Parish?

Combined Requiem Masses ordinarily celebrated on the last Friday of each month at the 5:30 pm Mass. This is a special Mass for the faithful departed. To have a faithful departed included in the intention of the Requiem Mass, obtain a Combined Requiem Mass form from the Parish Office. Complete the form by indicating the following:

• Name(s) of the departed. You may attach a separate list to the form.
• Petitioner's name.
• Amount of offering to accompany this intention.
• Submit the form and offering to the Parish Office.

NB. If your request is regular and for the same persons, you may indicate the number written on your receipt from the previous request, and the month (and year) of the previous request. You may also request for the Masses to be offered for several months at a time by indicating, for example: Jan - Jul 2014.
