THE SECOND COLLECTION this week will be for the Development Fund.

HOLY MASS (followed by praise and worship) will be organised by the Bread of Life Catholic Charismatic Covenant Community on Friday, 26 April 2024 from 8 pm onwards at the Cathedral. All are welcome!

 

A SPIRITUAL FORMATION ENTITLED ‘DISCERNMENT OF SPIRITS’ will be facilitated by Fr. James Tan, SJ on Saturday, 27 April 2024 from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon at Mater Domini Auditorium, Level 2, A.C.C.P.C..

 

NOMINATION EXERCISE FOR THE 16TH PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL OF ST. JOSEPH’S CATHEDRAL will take place at every Mass this weekend, 27 & 28 April 2024. Candidates appointed to this Council by the Nomination and Appointment Committee will serve a three-year term (i.e. from Pentecost 2024 until March 2027). Do pray and keep the following criteria in mind when you nominate your potential candidates whom you think will be able to contribute their God-given talents and help the Cathedral Parish meet the challenges and issues of our times.

 

- A practising Catholic (man or woman) above 18 years old.

- Currently active in lay organisation or ministry in St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Kuching.

- One who shares the vision and mission of the Parish and will support the priests in building up the Cathedral Parish community.

- Be willing to contribute one’s professional expertise and give sound advice when the need arises.

- Be willing to serve the Parish community by committing one’s time, energy and talents.

- Have genuine concern for the life and welfare of the ordinary Catholics as well as people of other faiths.

- A person of integrity who possessed leadership qualities, be humble of heart, willing to listen, unassuming and approachable. A team player who can work with others for the greater good of the Parish community and the whole Archdiocese.

 

YOU are invited to nominate THREE fellow parishioners of St. Joseph’s Cathedral whom you think are potential candidates for the upcoming 16th  Parish Pastoral Council.  Please provide the parish the nominated persons’ name & telephone contact.

May the Holy Spirit guide us in choosing our new Parish Councillors.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Please do not attend Mass in Church if you feel unwell with fever, cough, sore throat or flu-like symptoms. Stay home and follow the live-streamed Mass instead.

 

GENERAL REMINDER

Parishioners are reminded to show reverence to the Lord and consideration for others as follows. We seek your kind cooperation and understanding so that we can all worship comfortably as a Church:

 

-Please arrive early and be seated at least 10 minutes before Mass begins to avoid causing unnecessary interruption or distraction.

 

-The sacredness of the Eucharistic celebration urges all participants to dress appropriately when entering the Church for Holy Mass andmanifest the importance of what we are doing as a worshipping community.

 

-Wearing of face masks in Church is no longer mandatory but highly encouraged, especially in crowded and closed environment.

 

-Those sick with flu-like symptoms (e.g. fever, cough, runny nose, etc.) are to exercise prudence and refrain from joining the congregation in Church.
